We'll venture off the beaten path with the best drivers and classic cars in Cuba, capturing the soul of a land that remains a mystery to many.

Discover Baracoa, Cuba’s oldest colonial city and renowned chocolate producer, before a nostalgic pit stop in Guantánamo. Finally, we conclude our journey in the spirited, Afro-Cuban revolutionary city of Santiago de Cuba. This journey promises an experience like no other, delving deep into the heart of East Cuba. Camagüey: A City of Labyrinthine Charm~

Nestled in the heart of Cuba, Camagüey stands as a city of historical grandeur and labyrinthine streets, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of El Oriente de Cuba. A city twice the size of Havana with a fraction of the population, this uniquely Cuban city exudes an air of independence and strength. A UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its colonial architecture, vibrant art scene, and unique urban layout, where no two streets run parallel, Camaguey will surprise you! We’ll stay in the center of town which will give us the freedom to explore together.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL TODAY (TBD)
CAMAGUEY, CUBA
Arrive at Camaguey Airport
After clearing customs and retrieving luggage travel to your accommodation and meet your host.
Explore the historic center of Camagüey, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Wander through the maze-like streets, visit Plaza San Juan de Dios, and see the Casa de la Trova. We take a bici-taxi tour to get a local perspective on the city.
DAY 2:
CAMAGUEY, CUBA
Today takes on a journey of exploration. The architectural splendor of Camagüey is best experienced by wandering through its winding streets and picturesque squares. Key landmarks include:
Plaza San Juan de Dios: A charming square surrounded by brightly colored colonial buildings and cobblestone streets. It is home to the beautifully restored Church of San Juan de Dios and the adjacent hospital, now a museum.
Ignacio Agramonte Park: The heart of the city, this park is named after a prominent figure in Cuba's struggle for independence. It is surrounded by significant buildings, including the Cathedral of Our Lady of Candelaria, known for its impressive neoclassical façade.
The Galería Martha Jiménez in Plaza del Carmen showcases the works of the renowned local artist, Martha Jiménez, whose sculptures, and ceramics reflect the everyday life and culture of Camagüey. The city is also dotted with numerous art galleries and studios, making it a haven for art lovers.
Holguín: The City of Parks and Vibrant Culture~
Known for its numerous parks and plazas, each offering a glimpse into the local way of life. The most notable among them is Parque Calixto García, a central gathering place for locals and visitors alike, surrounded by historic buildings and bustling cafes. Holguín’s cultural richness is reflected in its lively music scene, art galleries, and elegantly dressed citizens. The city’s unique appeal is enhanced by the nearby Loma de la Cruz, a hill offering panoramic views after a climb up 458 steps, providing a rewarding experience for those who venture to its summit. Holguín also serves as a gateway to stunning natural attractions like Guardalavaca Beach and the lush Pinares de Mayarí, making it a perfect blend of urban charm and natural beauty
DAY 3:
CAMAGUEY-HOLGUIN, CUBA
Holguin will welcome you with open arms and the locals will be very excited to say hello or even a big hug. Here there is so much to see and enjoy, we will casually enjoy this city.
Parque Calixto García: This central park is a hub of activity and a perfect place to start your exploration of Holguín. Surrounded by historic buildings, it offers a glimpse into the daily life of the locals. Enjoy a leisurely stroll, people-watching, or relaxing in the shade of its trees.
Loma de la Cruz: Climb the 458 steps to the top of this hill for a breathtaking panoramic view of Holguín and its surroundings. The climb is a bit challenging but well worth the effort, especially at sunrise or sunset.
DAY 4:
HOLGUIN – GUARDALAVACA BEACH-HOLGUIN, CUBA
This morning, we take a short drive from Holguín to Guardalavaca this stunning beach is known for its crystal-clear waters and white sandy shores. It’s an ideal spot for swimming, snorkeling, or simply relaxing under the sun. You are welcome to bring your snorkel gear, as the aquatic life in this area is enchanting.
We will enjoy local fresh fare while we relax here for most of the day.
DAY 5:
HOLGUIN –MAYARI SALTO DEL GUAYAO, CUBA
This peaceful biosphere is filled with options for us and will be our home for the evening. From bird watching and often able to see the Cuban parakeet to the stunning Salto del Guayabo considered the highest waterfall in Cuba this is quit the stop in our journey.
Local farmers are often available to share their sustainable practices and locally grown produce.
A wonderfully peaceful retreat in the heart of Cuba’s natural beauty.
Baracoa: The Enchanted Land of Chocolate and History~
Baracoa, often referred to as Cuba’s first city, is a captivating destination nestled between lush mountains and the azure sea on the island’s easternmost tip. Baracoa's unique blend of indigenous Taíno, African, and Spanish influences is palpable in its local traditions, music, and cuisine. The region's fertile lands make it the top producer of chocolate in Cuba, with cocoa plantations dotting the landscape. The welcoming spirit of Baracoa’s residents and its serene, off-the-beaten-path ambiance make it a true gem of El Oriente de Cuba.
DAY 6 & 7:
MAYARI SALTO DEL GUAYAO - BARACOA, CUBA
Arrival into Baracoa will be in the afternoon and will be our home for the next 2 evenings.
While in Baracoa we will spend some time exploring the local community and its colonial flavors. Some areas of importance will include:
The Malecon is a fun and laid-back atmosphere like in Havana frequently visited by the locals and love birds.
City tour starting at Independence Park and covering the heart of Baracoa. Finca Duaba explore the cocoa plantation the process of production and tasting. River Tour of the Yumuri River, while enjoying the tropical landscape, and diverse wildlife
Santiago de Cuba: The Vibrant Heart of Afro-Cuban Culture~
Santiago de Cuba, often referred to as the "cradle of the Cuban Revolution," is a city pulsating with history, culture, and resilience. Nestled between the Sierra Maestra mountains and the Caribbean Sea, this vibrant metropolis is known for its unique Afro-Cuban heritage, which infuses every aspect of life from its music and dance to its cuisine and festivals. As the second largest city in Cuba, Santiago boasts a rich tapestry of colonial architecture, revolutionary landmarks, and lively public squares.
DAY 8 & 9:
BARACOA – GUANTANAMO - SANTIAGO DE CUBA, CUBA
On the way from Baracoa, we will make a stop in Guantanamo, the spectacular lookout point over the Guantanamo Bay, a unique vantage point providing views of the expansive turquoise waters with the contrast of the rugged surrounding terrain. It's a poignant stop that adds depth to any journey through Eastern Cuba, offering insights into the region's strategic importance and its role in international relations.
Arrival into Santiago in the afternoon and settle into your accommodations, for the next two evenings. Santiago is vibrant and busy with people walking, talking in the corners, discussing baseball, laughing, smoking a Cuban or simply the gentlemen admiring the beautiful señoritas. Some explorations will include the following:
Parque Cespedes is filled with local shops, street performances and interesting symbolisms.
Cementerio Santa Ifigenia here we will see the tombs of Fidel Castro and Jose Marti in one of the most grand and opulent cementeries in the Carribbean. The changing of the guard’s ceremony is a must see (if currently occurring).
El Castillo del Morro, offering stunning views of the Santiago Bay.
City Tour and various music stops.
DAY 10:
SANTIAGO DE CUBA, CUBA
Preparation for departure
The cost for the above delineated itinerary per guest is USD $3,300.00
Deposit required is $750.00pp and final payment is due 90 days prior to departure.

*Your Cuba Travel will make every attempt to adhere to the general plan above. Should circumstances change, we have the right to make proper modifications that will benefit “you” our guest.
Travel authorized by license through the Department of Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) that authorizes registered guests of our programs to legally travel to Cuba to participate and engage in a full time schedule of authorized exchange activities in Cuba, which will involve meaningful interaction between travelers and people in Cuba.
DEPOSIT
A $750 deposit is required at the time of booking to guarantee your reservation, which will be applied towards the cost of your tour. Deposits are generally non-refundable, except in rare cases when we cannot confirm all components of a booking at the purchase price. In the event that the trip must be post-poned due to Covid closures, your funds will be transfered to a later date of travel.
FINAL PAYMENT
The balance must be paid in full 90 days prior to departure.
