Frequently Asked Questions:
Where will I stay? Private Homes known as Casas Particulares. Similar to a bed and breakfast in other countries. (Mini-Bar Items are at the Guests Expense)
What about laundry? Your Host/Hostess can arrange to clean this for you for you for a fee.
What kind of electricity? The same as USA, 110 (two prong only in most places)
Will there be a blow dryer in my room? Yes, your room in Havana will have a blow dryer.
What about basic toiletries? Homes will provide soap. Bring (shampoo/conditioner/other products you like to use)
What about my valuables? Cuba is one of the safest places to travel in the world. Interpersonal crime is extremely low. That said, you are advised to keep your passport and valuables in the lock box in your room for extra security.
What if I get sick? While in Cuba you will have medical coverage through us, in the event it is needed. Please keep your Boarding Pass from your flight, it is your insurance proof.
How much money should I bring? USA based credit cards are not accepted in Cuba. With this in mind, we suggest you bring enough USD or Euros in cash to cover everything you will need throughout your time in Cuba. Popular souvenirs such as honey, coffee, and art are available and there is no limit to how much you bring home “for personal use”. (Do note however that if you are returning to the United States, both Rum and Cigars are prohibited to bring back as souvenirs.) How much money you need to bring is totally based on your personal spending habits so make sure to plan appropriately. To give you a frame of reference, a typical dinner in Havana usually costs around $15-20 per person with drinks.
Do I need a Visa? Visitors from most countries like the United States and Mexico, will require a visa, but visitors from some countries do not. If you have questions about visa requirements coming from another country please contact us. If you do need a visa the normal turnaround time is 30 days. This counts the time from when we receive your deposit for your travel package and the documents we require. If you are Cuban, you need to contact us directly as your Visa processing takes longer and is a bit more involved. Cuban Visa processing for a Cuban citizen is NOT included in the travel package. (This will be an additional fee)
Can I travel to Cuba if my passport is expiring soon? – Cuba requires that your passport has at least six months remaining of validity at the time of your entry into the country. If your passport is expiring within that period of time, you will need to renew it before traveling to Cuba.
Can I book my own flight to Cuba?- Yes, you can book your own flights directly through the airlines websites and even use some of your miles if you would like but if you need any assistance or would like for us to book your flights for you just contact us and we are happy to assist.
What if I want to visit other parts of cuba before or after the events?- We can happily arrange any sort of journey you desire anywhere on the island so contact us below.
